This is not a garden library in one volume sort of thing, but a nice addition to a general garden bookshelf. Brief, almost sketchy, practical advice on such things as gates, walks, garden steps and edgings, garden houses, play space, pools, types of gardens, etc. This is definitely designed for the gardener who is thrifty of time, energy and money. Harrie Wood's illustrations are not up to the text -- line drawings that suggest ground plans, diagrams, etc. rather than illustrative or decorative drawings.
