JAPANESE LADY IN EUROPE

A readable travel account of a visit made to China, Russia, France, the British Isles, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Austria, with some smaller countries thrown in. The Japanese woman writer was accompanying her husband, who had planned the trip to promote international understanding. In spite of the trip having been made in 1931-32, it seems only occasionally dated. For the most part it is observations of people and their ways of thought and life, filled with amusing commentaries, with much between the lines. Of interest to people -- woman especially -- who enjoy travel.
