THE THREAD SOLDIER

A little mouse and his friends indulge their artistic fancy. With a spool of the thinest thread they fashion a soldier. Encouraged by the result they proceed to provide him with the necessary equipment, only to be frustrated by a human hand which firmly withdraws the spool. The soldier is saved, but not without some mighty reckoning on the part of the mice. Esteban Frances, the illustrator, possesses the delicacy of touch and imagination to make this as delightful visually as it is verbally. A light bubble of a story which is perfectly controlled from beginning to end.
