MYSTERY IN THE APPLE ORCHARD

Stilted as her ""mysteries"" are, Helen Fuller Orton has a following her latest one won't decrease. The scene is the New York country side where crippled Timmy Brown comes to stay with Ronnie and Dee Waters on their farm. One day, snobbish Gloria comes to play with them sporting a diamond ring of her mother's and when she loses it, blames Timmy. But the loss helps Timmy, for he climbs the tree- overcoming his fear of the kind of fall that crippled him finds the ring that had been taken by a crow and forces the denouement that reveals Gloria shouldn't have been wearing the ring in the first place. Too much ""tsk! tsk!
