Mario wants to name his donkey even if it's never been done before in Anticoli Corrado. Chewing on straw-men alternatives as the donkey grows up, he nevertheless almost loses the pet by enraging Father when Little-No-Name somersaults and overturns his market baskets of grapes. The circus comes to town and, caught in the ring, Mario and friend are caught in the act of being themselves. ""Buffo!"" from the audience. The donkey is a natural clown, thus solving the problems of name and niche. Rather extended for a minor dilemma, and the interspersed drawings are no attraction.
