HER CHRISTMAS AT THE HERMITAGE

Another (last year's No Tears For Christmas) sprig of seasonal sentiment returns Andrew Jackson to his Rachel for this-their first- Christmas at the Hermitage where after long years of unrest and uncertainty, she hopes that he will stay by her side. Along with all the festive, culinary preparations, there are Rachel's memories of the past and of the duel which still shadows her peace of mind, and now there is also the prescience of the presidency to follow which will take him beyond her reach (her heart is failing). But the day itself, in which a young marriage overrides the General's testy protest- is a warm ending to her Christmas at the Hermitage... A small book, an extra for this season- but a stocking present at best (the price to the contrary--there are no illustrations.).
