APRIL TO REMEMBER

The lines are drawn when a Strategic Air Force base is located near a small town in Georgia and the relations between the military and old guard civilians are far from friendly. But a job at the base helps Denise Farrington as does renting her home to Major Bassette and his withdrawn wife and when her interest is aroused by Lt. Devlin she finds more sympathy for the newcomers. The suicide of Mrs. Bassette, the crash during squadron tactics, and her father's illness bring more changes for Denny for she learns that her dislike for Major Bassette covers a tremendous attraction and his readiness to help her when she needs it proves her heart's wisdom. A sure touch with the proud ""best people"", a good sense of the whispering gallery of a Southern town and the interweaving of others' lives, romances -- and tragedies make this popular fare indeed.
