THUNDER IN THE MOUNTAINS

An excellently written, appreciative but humor-filled account of the legends of Canada. The author has collected and retold many of the stories that will interest parents and children alike. The stories are organized into three sections -- the first with the early inhabitants of the garden, Canada; the second concerns the legends of the coming of the white men; the third makes a delightful potpourri of white men's tales of witches, pixies, saints and the devil himself. Schools and parents will find these stories very pleasant and just right for reading aloud.
