A sadly lagging second choice as a state flower guide compared to Dowden's entry (see above), this has the obvious advantage, as a busy-work reference source, of adding an illustrated but perfunctory paragraph or two on each state bird. Otherwise it differs from the Dowden in repeating under each sponsoring state the entry on any bird or flower which has been chosen by two or more.
