MYSTERY OF THE TALKING WELL

This is a subteen, subterranean story about the big old Inglehart house, untenanted for twenty years, with a well which seems to whisper G-O-O-O AW-A-A-Y. Mary Jo doesn't, and organizes a club to investigate it further and also to exclude the new girl in her class, Snooty Old Ruthie. The girls figure it all out but they also learn a small lesson in social relations. Not very complicated but neither are the demands of this age group (the author has written for them before) and other girls won't G-O-O-O AW-A- A-Y.
