WHERE DID TUFFY HIDE?

Tuffy, Nell's large eyed, floppy eared puppy, runs away and hides after any loud noise. The Doctor Denton set will love this story for it gives them a chance to guess where he's gone after the door slams, after Grandma sneezes, after a bee hums and after the clock strikes. Although Leonard Weisgard's inspired illustrations in color of the impish pup peering out from a breadbox, under a hat, in a grandfather clock and in a doll's house will endear Tuffy to pre-schoolers and their first and second grade brothers and sisters, the book would be stronger if the meter and rhyme of the text were as artistically done. Firmly sewn.
