MAN, MORALS AND SOCIETY: A Psycho-analytical Study

A psychological study of morals manifested in religions, especially Christianity, and political philosophies. Psycho-analysis reveals religious beliefs as wishful thinking, a prophylactic against individual neuroses. The author claims that the higher types of emotional attitude have significance in man's life but that a comparable attitude divorced from metaphysical beliefs can have more reality values. A coldly scientific analysis which ventures outside the realm of psychology into theology.
