INDIAN HEROES

Brief, dramatic versions of the true stories of many of our great Indians, from Colonial days to the time of Geronimo. Some of these stories are familiar -- the tales about Squanto and the pilgrims; Powhatan and Pocahontas; lordly King Philip; Sitting Bull, the great Sioux; and Geronimo, the last of the Apaches. Other stories may be new material for some young readers. The author presents fairly the Indian point of view and emphasizes the contribution these great Americans have made to our tradition.
