MASSY'S GAME

A hip and highly original basketball novel--with a plot to boot--by the author of Alphabet Jackson (1974). When Broussard ""Bru"" Massy surfaces in the training camp of the stingless NBA Wasps, the ""eight-foot two-inch glandular error"" is nothing more than a ""big nobody"" out of music school. Team sportswriter Sam Forrester has good reason to wonder why the uncommunicative hulk is abandoning his keyboard for the backboards. Massy seems to be an all-star klutz, so why's he being threatened with acid--and what about the half-million-dollar life insurance policy he's taken out on himself. . . or his long-vanished Cajun father Mike? Forrester senses that big trouble is Bruing even before the sky dunker starts tearing the league apart, getting himself bashed up in the process. Vigorous hoopla.
