PORTRAITS OF A LIFETIME

A Frenchman at home in literary and artistic worlds of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods presents a pot pourri of literature, art, society, with side glances and anecdotes of famous people. Not a chronological autobiography, though there is a good deal of autobiography here. From the Impressionists to the modern school he goes, and the book should be of value chiefly for its presentations of this survey.
