National economic planning should include conservation of natural resources, policies for redistribution of wealth, crimination of consumer exploitation, progressive income taxation, minimum wages, government control of speculation, credit, foreign markets, transportation, etc. Discussion of phases of social security legislation, need for housing legislation, importance of universal education in health. Excellent bibliography. Ponderous in style, but content is important as reference book for students of social problems.
