This symposium of papers by European and American theologians is concerned with hermeneutic, or ""interpretation"", understood in its new sense as having to do with ""a movement of language, from the word of God attested in Scripture to the preached sermon."" Recent developments in the field thus indicated are presented in papers by J. Robinson, rhard Ebling, Ernst, Fuchs, John Dillenberger, Robt. Funk, Amos Wilder, and J. D. Cobb. Although technical and specialized at many points, the papers provide a stimulating discussion for the student or professional religious worker around the central question of how the Bible is to be interpreted in the transmission of its faith and message. The volume is one of a series on New Frontiers in Theology offered by the publishers under the editorship of Prof. Robinson.
