STRADELLA

You are not supposed to review a book from its cover but it's so easy in this case--the title is definitive and then it appears in the Black Circle series, which recently introduced Harriet Marwood, Governess. ""Bear with me, healthy reader,"" and putting aside prim petulance, we longsuffered through these annals of unassimilated smut which commute between pornography and scatology, or to localize this, between the bedroom and the bathroom to which Stradella refers as the ""toitcy."" What a cutie; she's otherwise known (on a midnight t.v. show, in Hollywood) as Amourella, the Goddess of Love. She's slept with all the swingers and now she recruits one Archimedes Flum as a helper (houseboy) who becomes her ""Flumplum"" for less than a month of sex-gorged indulgences. This is the first in a series of books by a writer who is ""cynical"" and ""funny""--true. But ""What brings up the grin from the bottom of the bowels?"" and who is laughing? The publishers on the way to the bank.
