Bergler is a psychiatrist of Freudian derivation, but modern, moderated interpretation. He analyzes here the difference between tender ideal love and physical sensual love; he shows how all neurotic conflicts originate in childhood, conflicts for which no marriage can be a panacea; he discloses sexual disorders, importance, frigidity, closing with a classification of neurotic marriages, illustrated by case work... A specialized study, which, if technical, is more accessible to the interested layman than many psychiatric presentations. A sound job.
