STARDUST FOR JENNIFER

Copper's Chance and Front Page for Jennifer preceded this continuation of Jennifer Collings' adventures as horsewoman, small town cub reporter and, now a star. Home from college for the summer, Jennifer is brimming with confidence over her job on the Herald, her warm association with Jim, a pre-med student, and the fact that her interesting life removes her from the drudgery and narrowness she envisions for most of her friends. Yet when Jim must leave for an important job with a research expert, Jennifer's balloon is pricked. But it is blown up again when Hollywood decides to make a movie from the book that Mary Marsten, the Herald editor's wife, had written about her. As the world of glamour closes in, Jennifer almost loses Jim's love before she settles down to being a more docile creature. An inconsistent, fluffy story which nevertheless makes a sales point by saying what girls want to bear.
