THE PORCUPINE TWINS

Author of various other animal ""twin"" stories, Jane Tompkins writes in familiar pattern and here the porcupine twins amble and scurry through their first year of life. Though the personification is too cute and the world view disproportionately pro-porcupine,- as the twins learn and grow there is creditable revelation of their characteristics and those of their burrowing, chattering neighbors.
