Just about everything in the way of equipment, maintenance, cooking, emergencies and transportation one might like to know, or wouldn't--there is even a section on making one's own tent. Included are a directory of campsites, a conservation plea with guide for action (not too complete), suggestions for further reading on camping, nature, etc. With the essential index and glossary, this is a sound reference for the serious, ambitious camper, a helpful first stop for the more haphazard nature lover (who just wants to give the kids some fresh air) on the way to less formidable guides. From tippy canoes to Duluth packs--complete.
