In format and in fact this is virtually identical to the Selsam/Bubley collaboration How Puppies Grow (KR, 1972). Wexler's photos are, however, more explicit in showing the mother dachshund in labor, the puppy in its birth sac and the first steps in learning to nurse, and little Sausage has the edge in appeal over Selsam's brood. Pick of the litter.
