HIPPO

The author of Patches and Whiskers has written and illustrated a book about a forty-pound hippo baby living with his mother in a herd near an African river. Harmless though hideous, he leads a fairly peaceful life except when he mistakes a crocodile for a log. A fine picture of animal life in the dark continent.
