JUNGLE JOHN

A reissue of a British book first published here during the war years, this is Indian jungle adventure, solid and straight. In central India Bill Blackadder is a forest officer and he takes on his growing son John for a season of hunting and patrolling. An episodic and rather dull narrative of their experiences with the wilds and their creatures culminates with John's first tiger, which he kills in a hand to hand fight. A definite market here, with predictable appeal to undiscriminating tastes.
