Slim, but neat, mosaic of the contrariety and coincidences of a woman's life and character, as Erskine, as lecturing novelist, has his interest aroused by a member of a midwest audience and through her local friends gets her background, and the two men in her life. This, for a time, is invalidated by the woman herself, and later, completely reversed through chance acquaintance. With intimate -- and impersonal-points of view, the threads combine to give the woman, the triangle, the conflicting stories a unity. Smooth job, in spite of trick approach.
