The mulberry tree was once a hanging tree in this small town in Florida which then appropriated the name. Ibid the title. The author won a Pulitzer for his Tampa Tribune reporting of this case--the false arrest of an innocent young man for armed robbery, Ibid the book. Any further justification for its appearance in a form more durable than newsprint we find elusive since in spite of the publisher's referrals to In Cold Blood and Gideon's Trumpet, this is next to nothing at all as a case. Robert Watson was sentenced for ten years on the basis of an identification chiefly made on the basis that he had blue eyes. He did not commit the armed robbery, did not drive a white car, and could not have been there at the time, and reporter Frasca's follow-up of the case reopened it and reversed the unjust verdict. . . . ""What's the story?"" That's it. ""Just like I wrote it.
