The year is 1960- the issue is a presidential campaign, 1960 version -- the candidate is a ""middle aged glamour boy who is visually a composite picture of Pinza, Liberate and Ronald Colman"". And the story is a presumably satirical approach to the agency's program, with Blade Reade, erstwhile boy wonder of Madison Avenue, at the helm. Perhaps those in the know- and suffering from ulcers because of the rat race they find themselves involved in, will find it entertaining reading. I confess to having found it abysmally boring. The extremes to which they go- including a miraculous conception which brings voters in behind Baby (who never materializes)- seem to me in bad taste: And the whole reeks of an urge to get back at the boys.
