This is another in the endless stream of books, the purpose of which is to throw light upon the meaning of the person of Christ. It is essentially a theological book and will be of interest primarily to theologians and theologically minded clergymen and laymen. The author points out that by the word Christ we mean not only a person, but also the total even of which that person's life was the center, and the community in which that event culminated and continues. The author is a Methodist and a professor at Union Theological Seminary, New York City. The chapters of this book originally comprised lectures delivered at Harvard University on the William Belden Noble Foundation.
