A fairly limited book, not for Masefield's general public, but useful for comparative studies in literature. Masefield recapitulates the influence, importance of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, based on the 1890 and 1891 editions of his works, issued by his brother some years after his death. Here, in detailed annotations on the contents of the edition in question, are Masefield's conclusions as to Rossetti's contributions, to literature, poetry, etc. An introductory essay describes the Romantic Movement of which the Pre-Raphaelite group were a part. The book as a whole contributes a fresh interpretation to a literary figure and his works.
