CREEPY CASTLE

The cloying delicacy of Goodall's wordless half-page miniatures is cut a bit here by the cobwebby gloom of the creepy castle explored one day by an elegant young mouse couple--and by the medieval monster show they run into there after a dastardly, lurking stranger locks them inside. Escape however is almost effortless and the last page finds the pair sipping from tankards before the fire in their cozy ""Home Sweet Home""--whose humble style, incidentally, hardly jibes with the lady's high conical hat and pink costume.
