Slick in style but tight reading. Struggling young lawyer is framed on manslaughter charge and jailed. There he is the subject of a murderous attack, finally gets parolled, and ascertains that state's political dictator is out for his hide. An ex-wife and an obstinate detective interfere with his chance for vengeance, but the politico gets his through an ex-mistress and the lawyer and the wife are reunited.
