THE MASS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

This is a book written for Catholic children of grade-school age to explain the meaning of this central ritual of the Roman Catholic faith. The church building, the windows, the stations of the cross, the altar, the vestments are described and their spiritual meaning pointed out. The author then takes his young reader through the Mass step by step, describing what the priest says and does and why, from the opening Confession to the concluding Benedictions. Father Dunney, the author, is the pastor of St. James Church, Albany, N.Y., and the author of other books designed to set forth in simple language the meaning of the Catholic faith and practices. Parents and teachers of Catholic children will find this book helpful in bringing young Catholics to an intelligent understanding of their faith.
