A story of the Florida Keys and their deer has the marked atmosphere of the very wilds and in its sharp portrayal of the relations between men and animals there is definite appeal for Lippincott's established audience. Centered around old Hickey the hermit and his nephew Jack, it is the story of the No Name Deer whom Hickey finds as a fawn and raises. When it returns to the wilds, the issue of wild life conservation hangs in the balance as No Name and the other deer may be illegally hunted to extinction, but through Hickey's and Jack's efforts, recognition comes from Washington and plans are begun for a sanctuary. A well knit story, one of Lippincott's best, that will have its fascination for naturalists.
