THE LITTLE BEAR WITH PURPLE PAWS

The little bear got his feet stuck up with purple airmail stamps and the postman sent him to China where he saw--My--dragons, stilt houses, a black and white panda. Then the Chinese postmen sent him to Australia where he saw--Oh my--kangaroos, grass houses, a koala bear. Then the Australian postmen sent him to the North Pole where he saw--Oh my goodness--penguins, ice houses, a polar bear. How exotic, how primitive. Indifferent black and white (with purple paws) sketches help perpetuate the misconceptions. Home again, the little bear's purple paws wear off, but his friends continue to listen to him, assuring him ""You're still the bear with the STORIES!"" Barely bearable.
