by Judith S. Seixas ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 12, 1986
Busy, happy vitamins--their life's work and what it means. Sprightly short histories avert vitamin knowledge deficiency. The expected lists and charts are complemented by a quiz and tasty tidbits (e.g., ascorbic means ""without scurvy""). Seixas warns and instructs, but also gives timely controversies their due. Examples: How much is enough /too much? Are vitamin-enriched foods as health-giving as the natural source? A minor flaw: food sources are left until the end. Nevertheless, mature material is effectively scaled down to primary grade level. All in all, Vitamins is well-balanced, nourishing, and feels good.
