THE CROW WHO CAME TO STAY

This crow comes to stay in a scarecrow's coat, and so infuriates Mr. Pepperpot that he swats the scarecrow, tearing his cotton face in two. Staying by his sick friend, the crow chases away an army of his hungry relations by screaming ""Shoooo! Go away, crow!"" over and over again. Now he is a hero, welcome at the farm and entitled to eat two cherry pies all by himself. Turnabout is foul play: the complaisant crow and ineffectual scarecrow are displaced personalities in a dull, contrived plot.
