TOWARD A THEOLOGY OF EVANGELISM

In many Protestant Churches the enthusiasm for winning converts to the Christian faith at home and abroad seems to be waning. There is no such burning seal for this cause as was the case in a day when most Christians were under the conviction that the heathen would go to hell unless the Gospel were preached to them, or in the later day when they were rallied to a crusade ""to evangelize the world in this generation"". This book is a timely effort to think through the Great Commission of Jesus in the light of our basic beliefs. Accordingly the author re-examines our beliefs about God, Jesus Christ, the Church, Man and the World as far as they have a bearing upon the evangelistic mission of the Church. He shows how all of our basic beliefs have implicit in them the compulsion to share our faith with others and even provide guiding principles for the work of evangelism. An important book not only for missionaries and evangelists but for all zealous Protestant Church members.
