ANIMATED PICTURE BOOK OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Retellings of Alice find me prejudiced against them to start with, so it is not surprising that this toy book built around a spotty revamping of Alice's adventures seemed particularly inept. At times, Wehr, in pictures and animations, retains the flavor of the old timers by Tenniel; others are figments of his own imagination. Full-page, full color- often seeming oddly out of scale for the story.
