A Swiss noodle tale in the fools-of-Chelm vein, this tells about a town famous for burying its moles alive--a custom established when a terrified gardener digs one up, the priest and town council don't know what to make of the strange creature, and an old man ""sitting quietly at the back of the crowd"" finally suggests the best way to get rid of it. A small joke, blown up inelegantly in Obrist's klutzy cartoons of dumb bumpkins. (His cluttered crowd scenes apply a Mark Stamaty treatment to the country village setting.)
