A VERY MICE JOKE BOOK

Plays on the word mouse, or rather violations of other words in order to squeeze the word mouse into them at any cost, result in this collection of riddles with such answers as mousestache, Mouseolini, mousetronauts, Uncle Remouse, mouseter movies, Mouseopotamia, the Mice Man Cometh, pharmousey, Plymouse Rock, mice hockey, mousedemeanor. . . all the way down to such duds as portermouse steak, the Mouse of Representatives, and mice tea (for ice tea), with squeakeasies and ""squeak softly but carry a big stick"" thrown in for variety. It's marked ""for all ages,"" probably because the most likely younger audience won't catch all the jokes--but that's par for the genre. A harmless frippery, with stylish black-and-white line drawings that resist the usual joke-book tendency toward visual assault.
