WARTIME SHIPYARD

A documentary- with personalized touches- in a picture of the intolerance, the insularity, the predominant racial categories, the ""ghosts of feudal snobbery"" a university teacher found in a wartime shipyard. There was prejudice on all levels; the labor unions provided the unifying factors; there was class consciousness, nationalism, hatred of Britain -- attitudes which made for common grounds. An interesting if disheartening presentation of prejudice in all strata, given impetus by the accident of wartime levelling out.
