I like the story -- I don't like the pictures. Perhaps Zhenya Gay is becoming too self-consciously primitive; the result seems to me almost grotesque and out of scale, and I felt they hurt a good enough story of round the season incidents in rural Costa Rica, -- the oxen parade, the celebration of Christmas, etc.
