JOSEPHINE

A book for cat lovers, first and last, with Peggy Bacon drawings. An artless, affectionate, and a trifle arch, this bit about a cat of Paris, Josephine, who walked in on the author and stayed. Josephine had been shaved and obviously brutally treated, she was a sorry-looking and distrustful kitten. But care and affection won her over, and she put them through her adventures and misadventures, in capricious, ""s-kittish"" fashion. There was her dog friend, Kriss, and her suitor, Albert, there was maternity and three kittens, there was illness and disappearance and final departure for the country.
