THE WEANS OF ROWALLAN

A reissue of a book long out of print, and very little known over here. The story of the five young Irish children, ranging from twelve to six, and brought up in haphazard fashion by an Irish maid. Their father is dead, their mother an invalid , and they run wild, playing tricks on those they do not like, getting into mischief and doing their good deeds now and again. The youngest one will win her way -- and the episodes are recounted with a certain charm and appeal. The brogue is not too difficult.
