RIEMA

In format and typography this gives an impression of a book for younger children than the content appeal seems to indicate. Factual information, slightly fictionized to carry the information, about child life in the island of Java. One of these might-be-true stories of the visit of a white doctor to inoculate the native villagers against disease -- of the terror of the little girl -- of her subsequent control of her fear when illness threatened her mother. Good background material for geography supplementary reading.
