The author of those loved books about the North, Wilderness Wife and so forth, here gives us a fiction story of Ann Jackman, aged fifteen, and her twelve-year old brother Philip, in the Canadian fur country. Their father wanted to go into the silver-fox business and had to have the children's help in domesticating wild foxes. Their nearest neighbors were an Indian family ten miles away and the Hudson's Bay Post one day away. Ann fortunately found a valuable fox but it brought them trouble because of thieves who were finally routed by the Canadian Mounties.
