GIVE ME BACK MYSELF

Davies' last book (science fiction) dealt with memory loss as does this -- Stephen Dusack's attempt to prove, after a train accident, that he is a South African emigre and not wealthy David Orme who lives in a highly fortified house in well-justified fear of his life. As either Dusack or Orme, there's a fortune in cash or diamonds at stake. Davies, as always, moves gently through this unspecified world of psycho-physical displacement although the story per se is not as firm as it should be.
