OIL FOR VICTORY

The story- in text and pictures- of a great industry which was perhaps as large a factor as any other one thing in victory. Planes, tanks, ships, all depended for life on oil; medicines, insecticides, and countless other products needing oil for basic content. Facts and figures of production; dramatic bits about distribution to the farflung battle fronts; danger, imagination, and sheer hard work and courage produced and distributed oil where and when needed. The book is primarily a picture book; the text is factual, skirting political considerations -- which would have been inflammatory and controversial, but seem a vital phase today, possibly justifiably omitted in a book of this sort. Credits indicate source of material to be largely industrial. An index gives the book plus value for library use.
