THE LOWER PART OF THE SKY

Compared by the publishers to the varied talents of Hemingway, Kay Boyle, Richard Hughes, Graham Greene,- you can pretty well take your choice (or leave it alone) as this is a confused, confusing story of adolescents running amok- their activities which range from revenge, rape, murder, to a rather superstitious search for God. Confused in time (these adolescents take on some pretty masculine proportions by the close), in intent (the allegory is hazy) and concentrating on the morbid, this is more angled to attract attention than an audience.
